Howick Historical Village; The perfect blend of history, romance, and charm.

Sue & Andy 🤍

Venue: Howick Historical Village; East Auckland Wedding Venue

Through the Lens of an East Auckland Wedding Photographer

When Sue first phoned me to chat all things Wedding Photography, I was so excited to hear all about their Wedding Day plans. Sue contacted me following a recommendation from one of her work colleagues. Sue’s enthusiasm and energy across the phone line was so awesome. Absolutely infectious! I couldn’t wait to capture their Wedding Day.

Sue and her finance Andy had some fabulous plans for their Wedding at Howick Historical Village. We met for a coffee at the Homestead café next door to the village a couple of months prior to the Wedding to talk through all their plans, take a walk through the village together and discuss and finalise timings for the day.

Sue and Andy are such a gorgeous couple. Sue is super bubbly, friendly and outgoing. Andy is really relaxed and easy going and such a nice guy! Both such a pleasure and delight to be around. It was so nice hearing all about their history, how they met and the life they have built together. Their Wedding Day plans sounded pretty darn perfect too!

After some discussion they decided to have a first look prior to the Wedding ceremony and to take the bridal photographs then also. This meant they could maximise the time they had with their nearest and dearest following the ceremony.

The historical charm of the East Auckland Wedding Venue Howick Historical Village provides a really stunning and unique backdrop for a Wedding and of course for beautiful wedding photographs. The antique architecture, picture perfect chapel, lush gardens, lake, and period-specific details are an absolute visual feast.

Sue and Andy’s big day was here before we knew it, and everything went so well. The first look was a great success the ceremony was really special. They choose to get married in Bell House and it was gorgeous. Intimate, heartfelt and really beautiful.

We had a heap of fun taking the bridal portraits. We even had a visit from one the chickens that call the village home! It’s not every day that a chicken photo bombs your Wedding Photographs!

The ceremony was followed by drinks, lunch, cake, and speeches. Lots of laughs, connection, and love.

Choosing the perfect venue sets the tone for a memorable celebration. For engaged couples with a penchant for history, charm, and a touch of vintage allure, do take a look at Howick Historical Village in Auckland for your Wedding. It is a hidden gem that promises a Wedding Day steeped in romance and timeless beauty.
